STATEMENT OF PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

This is a regular meeting of the Glen Ridge Board of Education.  Adequate notice of the time change for this meeting has been provided in that this Board notified the Glen Ridge Paper and the Star Ledger on January 23, 2008.  Said notice was published in the Star Ledger on January 28, 2008 and the Glen Ridge Paper on January 31, 2008.  The date, time, and location of this meeting were also emailed to all recipients of the annual schedule of the Board’s meetings.

            Approve a family leave of absence to Lisa Walter, Reading Specialist at Forest Avenue School, effective on or about April 14, 2008 through the remainder of the 2007-2008 school year.  Ms. Walter will utilize 5 of her unused sick days prior to the anticipated birth and 20 days following the birth as per the Master Agreement. She will also take unpaid childcare leave for the 2008-2009 school year.  Her anticipated return is September of 2009.

a.       Steve Reitberger to attend the NJSIAA/NJSCA Golf Coach’s Clinic being held at Mercer Oaks Golf Club in West Windsor, NJ on March 11, 2008 for a total cost of $129.70 ($80 registration plus $49.70 travel).

 

b.       Elizabeth Banka to attend a New Jersey Association of School Social Workers workshop entitled “School Social Work: Multi-Tasking for Our Multiple Roles” being held at the National Conference Center Holiday Inn in East Windsor, NJ on April 14, 2008 for a total cost of $146 ($95 registration plus $51.66 travel).

 

c.       Lindsey Deptula to attend the Rhode Island Association of Admission Officers Spring 2008 Guidance Counselor Tour being held in Rhode Island from April 6-10, 2008 for a total cost of $326.18 ($125 registration plus $201.18 travel).

 

d.   Joyce Chafetz to attend a BER workshop entitled “Using the Four Square Writing Method to Strengthen Your Students’ Writing Skills (Grades 1-2)” being held at the Executive Inn in Fairfield, NJ on April 1, 2008 for a total cost of $204.71 ($195 registration plus $9.71 travel).

 

e.   Mary Keane to attend the North Jersey Chapter of the ACS/Teachers Affiliate Group workshop entitled “ROGIL in the Chemistry Classroom” being held at J.P. Stevens High School in Edison, NJ on March 7, 2008 for a total cost of $61.43 ($40 registration plus $21.43 travel).

 

 

f.    Jack DeWitt and Sonia Horn to attend a workshop entitled “Functional Analysis and Treatment of Severe Behavior Disorders: Methods for Clinicians & Educators” being held at the Teaneck Marriott Glenpointe in Teaneck, NJ from March 12-13, 2008 for a total cost of $321.96 per person ($285 registration plus $36.96 travel ).
