STATEMENT OF PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

This is a scheduled meeting of the Glen Ridge Board of Education.  Adequate notice of this meeting has been provided in that this Board notified the Glen Ridge Paper and the Star Ledger on May 2, 2007.  Said notice was published in the Glen Ridge Paper on May 10, 2007 and the Star Ledger on May 7, 2007.  The date, time, and location of this meeting were also emailed to all recipients of the annual schedule of the Board’s meetings.

     Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(e), we certify that as of January 31, 2008 after review of the Secretary’s monthly financial reports and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, to the best of our knowledge no major account or fund has been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(b) and that sufficient funds were available to meet the district’s financial obligations for the fiscal year.

B-2      Approve 2008-2009 School District Budget

            BE IT RESOLVED, that the Glen Ridge Board of Education approve the submission of the 2008-2009 school district budget to the voters on April 15, 2008 as follows: (Exhibit B-2)

            Authorizing Resolutions:

            Approve that there should be raised for taxes for the General Fund $23,244,935 for the ensuing school year 2008-2009, this resolution to appear on the ballots of April 15, 2008.

 

            Approve that there should be raised in taxes for Debt Service - Bonds Principal and Interest of $926,742 for the ensuing school year 2008-2009 this resolution not to appear on the ballots of April 15, 2008.

 

 

            BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Glen Ridge Board of Education, approve the appropriation of additional fund balances on lines 1620 and 1630 per the detailed recapitulation of balances for the following:

 

Additional fund balance will be appropriated between February 1, 2008 and June 30, 2008 in the amount of $70,000 for legal costs and unanticipated emergency repairs on Line 1630 of the Detailed Recapitulation of Balances. This appropriation did not reduce the general fund unreserved fund balance to fall below the 2 percent of the proposed budget year general fund appropriations.
