STATEMENT OF PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

This is a regularly scheduled meeting of the Glen Ridge Board of Education. Adequate notice of this meeting has been provided in that the Board notified the Glen Ridge Paper and the Star Ledger with the annual meeting notice on May 6, 2002. Said notice was published in the Glen Ridge Paper on May 9, 2002 and the Star-Ledger on May 10, 2002. The date, time, and location of this meeting were also mailed to all recipients of the annual schedule of the Board’s meetings.

P-1 Approve the following personnel items as recommended by the Superintendent of Schools:

a. Approve a maternity leave for Cheryl Conklin, Social Studies Teacher at Glen Ridge High School, effective May 27, 2003 through June 30, 2003. Ms. Conklin will utilize her unused accumulated sick days during this period and continue her child care leave through the 2003/2004 school year. Her anticipated return is September 2004.

    1. Approve the request by Steven Finkel, Basic Skills Instructor at Glen Ridge High School, to utilize his unused accumulated sick days during his Board approved paternity leave (January 27, 2003 through April 11, 2003).
    2. Approve a revision to the appointment of Marie Lasher, Teacher of the Handicapped at Glen Ridge High School from MA Step 1 ($41,159 pro-rated), previously approved at the December 16, 2002 Board meeting, to BA Step 1 ($36,803 pro-rated) effective January 13, 2003. And further, upon receipt of Ms. Lasher’s certification, she will then be placed on MA Step 1 ($41,159 pro-rated).
    3. Approve the addition of Peter Bartlett, Karen Bobowski, Michael Peinovich, Arthur McLeod, and Kristen DePalo to the substitute list (all grade levels) for the 2002/2003 school year and the application for emergent hiring in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:6-7.1 et seq., if applicable.
    4. Approve Tara Bobinski as a substitute after-school childcare aide effective December 17, 2002 at a rate of $11.71 per hour for the 2002/2003 school year.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Glen Ridge Board of Education, after a review of all bid proposals, awards the contract for re-roofing, window and door replacements at the Linden Avenue School to Icon Construction, 25 Davenport Street, Somerville, NJ 08876, which will only include the base bid in the amount of $133,000 in accordance with a final contract document as agreed between parties.
