Course Description
In the fourth grade, students begin to master their research skills by learning to use more effectively and independently the dictionaries, almanacs, encyclopedias, and atlases in the library. Gradually, they become more comfortable with finding answers on their own. However, at this stage there is still a need for some teacher guidance in searching for information.
Emphasis continues to be placed on the accuracy and reliability of
information sources.
The Library Media Specialist provides instruction and reinforcement for all
grades in applied computer skills utilizing applications such as Microsoft Word
and Powerpoint.
Appreciation for the printed word is emphasized at the

The mission of the Glen Ridge Public Schools Library/Media program is to insure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. Our program also encourages our students to develop a passion for reading and provides the skills necessary for lifelong learning in our digital society.
