Synergistic Systems Lab
A new way to teach and learn is found in the Foundation's Synergistic Lab at Ridgewood Avenue Upper Elementary School. Fifth through eighth grade students use a totally unique method of learning. The lab resembles a business environment with carpeted floors, lowered ceiling, CD-ROM and interactive videodisks. Students are responsible for their own learning; teachers serve as facilitators. The curriculum includes: Awesome Animals, Biotechnology, Body Defense, Great Green, Applied Physics, Engineering Bridges, Engineering Towers, Flight Technology, Robotics, Rocketry & Space, and Video Broadcasting all at individual modular work stations. This innovative environment prepares students for the work force and provides them with life long learning skills.
