Message from the Superintendent:
I hope everyone had an enjoyable, relaxing and exciting summer vacation. It has been a busy time in the district getting ready for the start of school. The building next to the Superintendent’s office was taken down in order to widen the back driveway at the Ridgewood Avenue School. Additionally, a new gym floor was installed at Ridgewood Avenue School. The Mayor’s Gala and the GRAA donated this floor. We thank them for their support.
At Forest and Linden Avenue Schools, some classrooms had the old carpet removed and the floors were tiled. Many more improvements were completed over the summer in each building. This was a short summer and our custodial and maintenance staff did a great job getting the buildings ready for the children’s return to school.
This is going to be an exiting year in the district. We will start construction at the High School during late summer/early fall. Like any construction project you may have experienced in your home, this one will be inconvenient at times, yet when completed, will be a great facility. We will be working with our construction management firm as well as the contractors to minimize disruptions to the educational process as much as humanly possible.
