The goal of the Health Office is to ensure that each student has a happy, healthy experience at GRHS. Healthy children are learners and your child’s health is important to his/her success .One function of the certified school nurse is to strengthen the educational process through improvement and promotion of student health so they will be equipped with the skills to become life long learners. Towards that end GRHS has a number of health related requirements. Some of the ways this is accomplished are through the followings.1. Screenings that are done are: Vision, and hearing done in grades 8 and 10. Height, weight and B/P screenings done yearly, with scoliosis’ screenings done in grades 7,9 and 112. Administration of medication (see permission to receive medication)3. Determination regarding school attendance due to illness and injury4. Injury, illness assessments and interventions, including first aid.5. Health counseling as needed.6. To educate school staff about health matters that affect the students
7. Educating students on our expectations, getting a good night sleep, eat healthy breakfast and come to school both physically and mentally prepared to work.
I work hand in hand with teachers, coaches, trainers ,administrators and support staff to ensure the overall well being of both our students and our staff. I am available for you and your child.
