AUTOCAD AT HOME

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Mr. Shohen’s CAD class.  I am looking forward to getting to know each of you.  We will be using Autodesk 2015 products in class.  You will have time to work on all assignments in class.  It is recommended but not required to download the software for your own computer and work at home for free.

Below is the link to download any Autodesk software at home for free.  I would recommend downloading AutoCAD 2015 (about 2.5 gigs of memory) for all classes.  There is a version of AutoCAD for Mac OSX.

If you’re in Engineering Fundamentals, CAD II & III you may also want to download Inventor 2015 (about 3.5 gigs of memory) and Revit 2015 (about 3.5 gigs of memory).  Inventor will be used for 3D engineering drawings and Revit will be used for architecture drawings.

Check your computer’s hard drive before downloading to see if you have a 64-bit Operating System.  Go to the start menu then Right click on ‘Computer’ and click on ‘Properties’.  Here it will list your system information.

Click the link below and register as a GRHS student. You do not need a school email address. You can use your personal email address.

Make sure you write down the Serial Number and Product Key when you see it.  You will need this to register the software

Don’t get overwhelmed with these complex programs, I will teach you in steps how to use them.

I’ll see you soon,

Mr. Shohen
