 Dear Parents/Guardians:

Toward the end of March,  all students at Ridgewood Avenue School will be administered the “InView” test.

The InView is an assessment tool used to measure academic aptitude.  The assessment consists of four cognitive sections: sequences, analogies, quantitative reasoning, and verbal reasoning.  The Cognitive Skills Index (CSI) scores from InView provide a reliable measure of overall academic potential and can be utilized to help identify Gifted and Talented students, and to identify students with special needs.

The test will be administered in the morning and will last approximately fifty (50) minutes.  The test will be given on March 22nd for our 3rd and 4th graders and on March 23rd for our 5th and 6th graders.  The following day will be make-up dates for any student who was absent for regular test administration.

Once we receive the results of the tests we will mail them home with a letter explaining your child’s scores.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or your child’s teacher.

Mr. Donovan
