SUMMER 2023 - Program News

For students at GRHS, all students who were eligible for G&T in 7th grade are automatically grandfathered into the Grade 8 program.  Students who were not eligible in 7th grade must qualify for entry into the Gifted and Talented program.  For the 8th graders, as a 7th-grade MAP score is unavailable, students will utilize NJSLA scores as part of the qualification rubric.

G&T entry letters will be mailed to parents of students who qualify during the month of August at the building level.

Young Learner and G&T programs will begin the first full week of school (September 11th).

Our G&T teachers are:

  • Young Learners (FAS/LAS) - Danielle Chesney
  • Young Learners (CS) - Mary Lynn Savio
  • G&T (RAS) - Lis Ellersick
  • G&T (GRHS) - Yan Wang

Three appeals dates have been set.  Please ensure that your packet arrives on/before the date (September 22nd, October 20th, & December 22nd). The G&T Committee Appeals meeting is scheduled for roughly 1 week after each deadline and parents will receive notice of status within a week after the appeals meeting date.  Appeals information can be found using the link to the left.
